A Dra. Veena Balkrishna Fernandes é médica Ayurvédica.

Filha de pai indiano e de mãe portuguesa, nasceu nos Alpes, em França − Aix-En-Provence − mas cresceu na serra de Monchique onde passou a sua adolescência e fez os seus estudos. Decidiu retornar às origens, saindo de Portugal para realizar o seu curso de medicina Ayurvédica na Índia e poder estudar profundamente uma das medicinas mais antigas da história da humanidade.

O grande interesse e a eficácia reconhecida dos tratamentos ayurvédicos levaram Veena Balkrishna a aprofundar o seu conhecimento sobre essa medicina milenar, tendo-se licenciado em Medicina Ayurvédica e Cirurgia pela

Universidade de Gujarat Ayurved, uma das mais conceituadas da Índia. Especializou-se também em terapias de Panchakarma – tratamentos de doenças crónicas e / ou profundas, como a obesidade, as enxaquecas, a psoríase, o stress / a ansiedade, a depressão, as gastrites, as artrites, a osteoporose, entre outras − e terapia Rasayana ou de rejuvenescimento.

No ano de 2010 terminou o curso e fez um estágio de um ano no Hospital Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved, Jamnagar, ligado à mesma universidade situada na costa oeste da Índia.

Adquiriu também formação especializada em Massagem de Recuperação, no Sindicato Nacional de Massagistas de Recuperação e Cinesioterapeutas, Lisboa, Portugal (2005) e Panchakarma no Sidheshwari Research Institute of Ayurvedam, Hyderabad, India (2006).
Destacam-se ainda as áreas disciplinares da sua formação em medicina como a Anatomia, Patologia, Fisiologia, Biomecânica, Electrologia / Hidrologia, Técnicas de Massagem; Clínica Geral, Panchakarma, Ginecologia, Obstétrica, Otorrinolaringologia, Pediatria e a Cirurgia.

Actualmente a Dr.ª Veena Balkrishna Fernandes reside em Portugal onde exerce a sua profissão como Médica Ayurvédica em Monchique, Lagoa, Almancil, Lisboa e Porto.

Dr. Veena Balkrishna Fernandes is an Ayurvedic doctor.

Daughter of an Indian father and a Portuguese mother, she was born in the Alps, in France − Aix-En-Provence − but grew up in the Monchique mountains where she spent her adolescence and studied. She decided to return to her origins, leaving Portugal to take her Ayurvedic medicine course in India and be able to study in depth one of the oldest medicines in the history of humanity.

The great interest and recognized effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatments led Veena Balkrishna to deepen her knowledge of this ancient medicine, having graduated in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from the

Gujarat Ayurved University, one of the most renowned in India. He also specializes in Panchakarma therapies – treatments for chronic and/or profound illnesses, such as obesity, migraines, psoriasis, stress/anxiety, depression, gastritis, arthritis, osteoporosis, among others − and Rasayana or rejuvenation therapy.

In 2010, she finished her course and did a one-year internship at the Shree Gulabkunverba Ayurved Hospital, Jamnagar, linked to the same university located on the west coast of India.

She also acquired specialized training in Recovery Massage, at the National Union of Recovery Masseuses and Kinesiotherapists, Lisbon, Portugal (2005) and Panchakarma at the Sidheshwari Research Institute of Ayurvedam, Hyderabad, India (2006).
Also noteworthy are the disciplinary areas of his training in medicine such as Anatomy, Pathology, Physiology, Biomechanics, Electrology / Hydrology, Massage Techniques; General Clinic, Panchakarma, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatrics and Surgery.

Dr. Veena Balkrishna Fernandes currently resides in Portugal where she practices as an Ayurvedic Doctor in Monchique, Lagoa, Almancil, Lisbon and Porto.
